Along with that fascination has come intense debate, especially in more recent years, about its authenticity.   Bringing a unique perspective to the discussion is Barrie Schwortz, a technical photographer as well as the official documenting photographer for the Shroud of Turin Research Project, a team that performed the first ever in-depth scientific examination of the Shroud in 1978.   As his website devoted to the Shroud states, “The Shroud of Turin is a centuries old linen cloth that bears the image of a crucified man. A man that millions believe to be Jesus of Nazareth. Is it really the cloth that wrapped his crucified body, or is it simply a medieval forgery, a hoax perpetrated by some clever artist? Modern science has completed hundreds of thousands of hours of detailed study and intense research on the Shroud. It is, in fact, the single most studied artifact in human history, and we know more about it today than we ever have before. And yet, the controversy still rages.”   Schwortz spoke in Hamilton at a Shroud of Turin exhibit and Culture Watch was there to record his presentation and pass on his captivating insights to you. This is part four of a five-part series. She then underwent a series of supernatural events that led to her conversion and a life of abandonment to the will of God.Ortiz told her story during a visit to Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Winona, just outside Hamilton, and Culture Watch was there to record her talk. While Culture Watch does not vouch for the veracity of Ortiz’s testimony, we do note she has the approval of her diocese in Bogota, Colombia, as well as her spiritual director, to tell her story around the world. We present the fouth and final part of her talk tonight. In the case of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, who was canonized on April 30, 2000, one of the two miracles credited to her intercession was on behalf of Maureen Digan of Massachusetts. With her husband Bob, Digan spoke in Hamilton to give her account of what happened after she prayed at then-Sister Faustina’s tomb near Krakow, Poland in 1981. It’s a story of love and manifestation a miracle that you won’t want to miss. Tonight, I present the second and final part of a two-part series on the miracle God worked in Digan's life and that supported the canonization of a new saint.
